2016 · A name on the Marketplace
The earliest trace is the Actor Waypoints thread on Epic’s forums, posted by the user rainfold in April 2016. A matching X account, @rainfoldco, names rainfold.com as its website and describes its owner as the developer of the Actor Waypoints Blueprint collection.
2018–2019 · The domain
A third-party WHOIS mirror reports the domain being created on July 15, 2018. Common Crawl’s only capture from this period is a robots.txt in February 2019. No page content from the original site was found in any archive; the Internet Archive has no snapshots at all.
2023–2024 · Lapse and parking
By March 2023 the hostname answered with a PHP error from a shared host configured for another domain. In May 2024 it served a parking page that fingerprinted the visitor and redirected with an fp= parameter, with a robots.txt blocking the ad scripts it loaded. The original owner’s site was gone.
2025–2026 · A steel company that wasn’t
From October 2025 the domain hosted a Chinese-language template site for a steel wire manufacturer under the path /wanboguanwangmanbetx/, a prefix naming a gambling brand. Common Crawl indexed about twenty of these pages through July 2026. They were never Rainfold content. This site answers every URL under that prefix with 410 Gone so search engines drop them.
2026 · A new chapter
The domain has a new owner. This independently rebuilt site documents the Blueprint that made the name worth keeping and is honest about the gaps: the original pages, their addresses and their design were not recovered, and the routes here are new.
